Evidence-based audit of NexGen's 20 October 2025 Brent forecast: $59.93 support, $72.25 pre-war target completion, 20.56% rise and transparent method limits.
On 20 October 2025, Dr. Gaurav Sinha published a Brent crude analysis identifying $58-$60 as a structural reversal zone and $68-$72 as the expected recovery objective. EIA Europe Brent spot subsequently reached $59.93, entered the published support zone, and advanced to $72.25 on 30 January 2026. The measured rise from the confirmed support low was 20.56%, and the complete published target was achieved 29 days before the Iran war began.
The original LinkedIn post was published while Brent traded near $61 and the dominant market narrative centred on oversupply, weak demand and contango. The archived chart showed an extended W-X-Y-X-Z corrective interpretation approaching completion, while the text identified a $58-$60 support region and an expected $68-$72 reversal target.
Europe Brent spot reached $59.93 on 16 December 2025. It then crossed $68 at $68.87 on 14 January 2026 and completed the upper target at $72.25 on 30 January. From the confirmed support low to the upper target, the move measured 20.56% over 45 calendar days.
The timeline is central to the evidence. The Iran war began on 28 February 2026, 131 days after publication and 29 days after the published upper objective had already been completed. The post therefore did not require the later geopolitical shock for validation. War-period prices and a subsequently derived $87.65 Fibonacci extension are analysed separately and excluded from the original October forecast score.
The report credits the original price zones, directional reversal thesis and visible Elliott/NeoWave-style W-X-Y-X-Z structure. It qualifies the word “imminent,” the uniqueness of the wave count and the RSI/MACD/OBV statements because the archived image does not display the relevant indicator panes. Undocumented Gann, Hurst, astronomical and Kondratiev constructions are excluded from attribution.
Outcome Summary
Pre-war support and target confirmed; timing and wave proof qualified. The two objectively scoreable published price outcomes were achieved. The later war amplified an already validated reversal and is not presented as a predicted event. “Imminent” remains unscored because the post supplied no objective deadline, and the exact W-X-Y-X-Z count cannot be uniquely certified from the preserved chart alone.
Publication Note
Retain the controlled status exactly. Do not describe this as a war prediction, do not add the post-war $87.65 extension to the original score, do not convert market movement into verified trading profit, and do not claim that the wave count was uniquely proven.
